John Hare was the founder and architect of ISTA (Internet Sacred Text Archive) a repository of the world's Public Domain sacred texts that was always and forever, neutral, secure space for free, anonymous, and worldwide access to digital versions all sacred text. He was also a skilled software engineer, anthropologist, linguist, commentator, businessman, game designer, and even ethnomusicologist/musician.
Until the very end he did everything to keep ISTA running smooth as silk. Even a famous DOS (Denial of Service) attack did not keep the site down and John's efforts to track down that user ended in the person being banned from computer use but also got John an interesting response as to why they tried to close down the site, noting mixing of Pagan and Christian texts was offensive.
Bruno also had a punk band called Dalkon Shield.
He passed away after a long battle with Melanoma.
