Ronnie Simpson
Birth: Oct. 11, 1930
Death: Apr. 20, 2004

Sports Figure. Celtic and Scotland goalkeeper who achieved football imortality as part of the Glasgow Celtic team that became the first ever British club to win the European Cup...a 2-1 victory over the Italian giants, Inter Milan in 1967. Nicknamed "Faither," Ronnie Simpson stamped his authority on the teams of Celtic's golden era, very rarely made an error and without a doubt will be remembered as probably the best goalkeeper to ever play for the "Hoops" and certainly one of the greatest players in the club's long and illustrious history. (bio by: Dave in England)
