He was born the son of Joseph and Martha Chenault. He married Bessie Elverd on August 21,1903. He had fours sons, Forest,Huel, and Cecil and one son that died in infancy. Also one daughter that died in infancy. He worked for the Southern Railway Company and died of an acute heart attack in the oil house of the Railway while waiting for his son Cecil to bring him lunch. He was buried in the Cliff cemetery in Cannelton.
