Marlene Mitchell Gowdy, went to her Lord on March 04th, 2000. Born October 31 1935. Once married and divorced to Larry Gowdy, was the Mother of two sons, oldest Michael Joe Gowdy, and youngest son Jeffrey Joe Gowdy.

Marlene was a tiny built lady. With a beautiful smile a tender heart, long beautiful dark hair that cascaded around her ivory skin and down her back. She loved country music and to dance. Some of her closest friends were in the entertainment industry in Las Vegas, NV. Country singer Bobby Green (deceased), country music singer Jim Staggs, and country singer Lori Ann Michaels. This beautiful lady Marlene always had a smile upon her face.

Years ago she became the first female to undergo heart surgery, replacing the valves around her heart. And lived a good life due to this surgery.

She worked hard as a waitress for years at the Silver Nugget Casino & Restaurant in N. Las Vegas Nevada area for years. Marlene was well liked and loved by many that knew her.

I shall remember her kindness, our many talks together and her love for people. She had not one mean bone within her body. Marlene loved her sons unconditionally and was a devoted Mother to them until her final days had come.

Sadly within a few days after Marlene's passing her youngest son, Jeffrey Joe Gowdy passed away. They are together forever now. God Bless them both always.

She left behind her oldest son, Michael Joe Gowdy of Las Vegas Nevada, two grand children Jeffrey Joe Gowdy Jr., and Christie Gowdy both children of Jeffrey Joe Gowdy. ( Marlene's oldest son, Mike passed away 13 years after his dear Mother). Burial details are unknown presently.)

Marlene was a beautiful and tender lady. Who was respected and adored by many who knew her. She will be missed and always loved, a sweet and endearing lady she truly was.
