Bertha was a wonderful woman who I had the honor of knowing for several years and worked with her. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and some great advice to give. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She spoke of them often and they would sometimes stop to see her at work. Many old customers who moved and even ex employee's who went on in life, would stop by to see her. She worked at the A&W in Bettendorf Iowa. Bertha made it fun to work there, and want to come in early everyday just to chat. She is so missed by all who knew her.
Bertha Kiser married Lester Allen in 1936 in Moline. He died in 1978 from throat cancer. Bertha and Lester had 4 children, 2 daughters Shirley Dunbar, Largo, Fla., and Pat Palmateer, Lady Lake, Fla; and 2 sons Steve, East Moline, and Jerry, Moline. They had 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by a sister G.G.Smith.
