Born at "Tower Hill" the home of his father Col. George Blow in Sussex, Va. Attended the Medical College of Virginia, University of Pennsylvania, and studied later in Paris. He observed yellow fever patients for some months in New Orleans and believed himself to be immune to the disease but died of it while treating patients in Norfolk.
