Leo P. Ambrosia, 93, of the Willmathsville Community, passed away Tuesday afternoon November 29, 1994 at his home.
The son of William Frederick and Charlotte Christman Ambrosia, he was born August 13, 1901 in Wilmathsville, Missouri. On April 7, 1945 in Queen City, Missouri he was united in marriage to Annalu Erwin who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Buddy L. Ambrosia and Charles E. Ambrosia and wife Glenda all of Willmathsville, Missouri; one daughter and husband, Ane Sue and Charles Baker of Brashear, Missouri; one sister, Zelma Purvis of Kirksville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brett Baker and wife Kelli, Brock Baker, Lisa Ambrosia and Anthony Ambrosia and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father on February 6, 1941; his mother on December 29, 1963; one infant son Billy on September 8, 1946; two brothers, A.R. Ambrosia and William Ambrosia; two sisters, Lucille Byrn and one in infancy; two nephews and one great-nephew.
Mr. Ambrosia was a life-long resident of the Willmathsville Community and received his education in the Garden Grove rural school. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Leo spent his entire life farming in the Willmathsville area except time spent in Camp Hammerfield in California.
Leo was baptized into Christ many years ago and was a member of the Willmathsville Union Church.
Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Friday December 2, 1994 at the Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Dan Todd will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Wilmathsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Frank Collop, Garry Taylor, John Taylor, Keith Story, Phillip March and James Scudder.
