The World of Art bid farewell to one of its pricless originals. Joseph "Mo" Millazo passed away on Monday, February 14th, 2000 at the age of 71.

He is survived by Jackie [Brooklere] Millazo; daughters, Lisa Bruno and Mary Jo Angelo. He left six grandchildren -John Paul, Joseph, Christopher Bruno, Mary Elizabeth, Catherine Ann and Vincent Angelo.

"Mo" [as his students called him] was a noted artist and educator, having taught art at John Carroll for 34 years. He retied from John Carroll in 1993.

Graguated from St. Pauls High School and received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from St. Bernard College in Cullman and his Masters in Art from the University of Alabama at Birmingham

Taught at the Jewish Community Center for 35 years where he was Gallery Director for many years. Even after retirement, he continued his work as an artist, estabilishing the "Monday Morning Painters".

Fr, Muller who celebrated the funeral mass at Our Lady of Sorrows stated:
What was Joe like? Everyone in Birmingham liked and half the the other cities in the United States, seemed to know him. Mo would always say..."Baby, when you go to New York, you have to eat at this little reaurant I know about. Tell them your one of mine and they will give you the best." "Or, if you ever go to Europe....". "Or in New Orleans, when we went there the last time..." Mo knew half the modern world and at least part or the not so modern world. And he knew him!!!!!!!!!

"Mo" was the "Paul 'Bear' Bryant" was in the Art World - a Giant matched my no other - and there will never be another.
