Funeral services for George Truett Paul, Sr, 71, of Sylvester, who died on September 27, were held September
29 at the Isabella Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Whiddon and the Rev W. G. Tyson officiating. Interment followed at Isabella Cemetery.
He was the son of the late William Gordon Paul and Annie Estelle Bozeman Paul.
The Worth County native was retired with full honors from the United States Navy as a CWO 3rd class after 24 years of distinguised service.

Paul had resided in Sylvester for the last 26 years and was a member of the Isabella Baptist Church.

The veteran served in World War II, the Korean (War) Conflict and the Viet Nam War.

Military personnel served as pallbearers.
During his years of military service, he was bestowed with the Bronze Star Medal (In Combat V), Navy Commendation Medal. (In Combat V), Presidential Unit Citation;

Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), China Service Medal;
(Extended), European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign (3 Stars); Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal (3 stars); World War II Victory Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal; (Asia), United Nations Service Medal ( orean/War/Conflict) and Korean Service Medal (3 stars).
He is survived by his wife, Susie Rutherford Paul of Sylvester; sons, George Truett Paul, Jr. of Sylvester, Charles L. Jeffries of Griffin, sisters, Ruth Paul McCrary of Sylvester, Mrs. Louise Paul Smith of Sumner, Mrs. Frances Paul Booth of Sylvester;
Daughters, Carloyn P. Montgomery of Sylvester, Frances P. Keaton of St. Augustine, Fl, Kathy P. McDonald of Sylvester, Nancy Paul of Hattisburg, Miss, Lisa P. Bearden of Chiefland Fl; 14 grandchildrene, four great-grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces.
Banks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
