ROGERSVILLE, Tn. — Robert "Bob" Buzzo Sr., 72, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 27, 2011), at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Bob has been a resident of Rogersville for 12 years. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was an active member of the American Legion. Bob was currently the American Legion Historian and on the housing committee and past commander.
Bob was a detective with the New York Police Department for 5 years then moved to Florida where he joined the Miramar Police Department where he retired after 25 years as a police officer. He retired from the United States Army in 1970 as a Command Sergeant Major.
Bob was one of nine children. He was a brother to Barbara (husband Leon), Winnie, Vicky and Jeanne (husband Steve). He will join his late siblings, Edward, Richard, Bernard, and Delores.
Bob has several family members and friends that are going to miss him dearly. Bob was a beloved husband of 25 years to Marlene Buzzo. He was a devoted father to son, Robert Buzzo Jr. (fiancée, Jessica); daughters, Patrice, Monique (husband, Jerry), Claudine and Andrea; stepson, James.
He is also survived by his grandkids, Kristani, Michael, J.J., Nicole, Christopher, Lauren, Victoria, Furian and Nicholas, two great-grandkids, James and Dylan.
Bob touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Christian-Sells Funeral Home.
Military graveside services will follow at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens by the Hawkins County Color Guard.
