Corinne (Connie) Armstrong Reimann, age 65, lost her valiant battle with ovarian cancer on Tuesday evening, April 15, 2008.
Following graduation from Rogersville High School she attended Emory and Henry College before receiving her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Masters Degree from Western Michigan University. She retired after thirty-six years of teaching (thirtyfive years at Galien Township School in Galien, Michigan) and moved back home to Rogersville in 2002 (from her home in St, Joseph, Michigan).
She served on several
civic organization boards and distinguished herself as an active community leader through the Rogersville Heritage Association, the Rogersville Historic Preservation Commission, the Chip Hale Center, the Rogersville Main Street Commission, the Republican Women's Organization, and the Rogersville Kiwanis Club. As a member of the Rogersville First United Methodist Church she served on several committees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. Reimann; her parents, Clayton P. and Virginia Backus Armstrong; grandparents, Winfield and Cora Armstrong; and two special aunts: Lois and Florence Armstrong. She is survived by one son, Chad Armstrong Reimann of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and three brothers: E. Clayton Armstrong (wife Ellen), W. Clinton Armstrong (wife Linda), and Orville R. Armstrong (wife Geraldine) all of Rogersville. She is also survived by brother-in-law Jerry Reimann (wife Janet) and sister-in-law Lee Yeske (husband Donald) of St. Joseph, Michigan, as well as by several nieces and nephews and great-neices and -nephews. Special friends of care include Shirley Looney, Brenda Richards, and Linda Johnson.
The family will receive friends at the Rogersville First United Methodist Church from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008. The funeral will be held at 8:00 p.m. following the visitation with Rev. Malcolm Wansley officiating. Graveside services will be conducted by the Hasson Chapter # 179 Order of Eastern Star at McKinney Cemetery in Rogersville on Saturday, April 19th at 11 :00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rogersville First United Methodist Church, 110 Colonial Road, Rogersville, TN 37857; the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601; the Chip Hale Center, 310 Hasson Street, Rogersville, TN 37857; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or the Rogersville Heritage Association, 415 South Depot Street, Rogersville, TN 37857.
