Obituary: Naomi M. BARD - Retired from L. Greif Bros. Manufacturing Naomi M. Bard, 90, formerly of 105 East Market St., Mount Union, died at 7:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 1992, at the Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, where she had resided since July 1991. She had been in failing health for the past several years. Born Feb. 5, 1902, in Hill Valley (Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County), she was a daughter of the late John L. and Ella M. (Heck) Hileman. She married Marshall M. Bard on Oct. 8, 1920. Mr. Bard died April 18, 1948. Surviving are two children, Max H. Bard of Mount Union R.D. 1 and Mrs. Donald (Anna Mae) Mttern, Wyomissing; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also suviving are three sisters; Violet Appleby, Altoona; Mae Stimmel, Connellsville; and Minnie Peterson, Rockhill Furnace. Preceding her in death were a son, Robert Bard, four sisters and sic brothers. Mrs. Bard was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Union, and the Longacre Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Shirleysburg Grange and a past member of the Auxiliary to Simpson-Hunt Post 107, American Legion, Mount Union. In 1964, she retired from L. Greif Bros. Manufacturing, Mount Union.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept 10, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Grundon officiating. Interment will be in Mount Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, from 7-9 p.m., and Thursday, after 9 a.m. until the hour of the services. Memorial contributions, in remembrance of Naomi M. Bard, may be made to the Building Fund, First United Methodist Church, 11 W. Shirley St., Mount Union, Pa. 17066.
