SOUTH BEND – Margaret M. Benko, 81, of Flushing, Michigan, formerly of South Bend passed away at 6:56pm Sunday, October 21, 2007 in Genesys Health Park, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Margaret was born on November 21, 1925 in South Bend to Jules and Irma (Larson) Naessens. Mrs. Benko was active with the Democratic Party, was employed with the Indiana Dept of Motor Vehicles and the Treasurers Office in St. Joseph County and also worked at the Howard Johnson's in Flint, MI. On June 7, 1947 in South Bend, as Margaret Naessens, she married Carl A. Benko, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Maureen (Stephen) Juno of Flushing, MI; two sons Carl Benko of Davison, MI; James (Suzanna) Benko of Burton, MI and 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchilden. She was preceded in death by a son Bruce Benko and a brother August Naessens.
