Edward married Flavia Millard on July 4th, 1826 in Becket, MA. Five children were born to this union, Matilda and Emily in MA. then Marcus O., Laura and Lucy Crane were born in Ohio.
I believe that Edward and Flavia were divorced as Edward remarried to Elizabeth C Dial, who was just one year older than his oldest daughter. The date of Edward and Elizabeth's marriage is unknown. Their first child William was born about six months before Flavia died. Four children were born to them, William Porter, Florence E., daughter S. Crain and Carrie Belle Crain. Edward farmed in Geauga, Co then moved to Trumbull Co. where he purchased several different pieces of property. Edward and Elizabeth separated in 1870 and he eventually moved to MI. and lived with his daughter Laura Crain Ward and her husband David Ward. He is shown in the 1880 census at Porter, Van Buren, MI. as a widower, but he was not, he was divorced. Due to the stigma of divorce at that time, he evidently told them he was a widower.
His death is listed as being in Antwerp Twp., Van Buren, MI. but where he is buried is unknown. Please contact me if you have information.
