Florence was born to Matthew Hamilton and Jane Harton/Herten, at Decatur, IN. She grew up with her siblings, Margaret Jane, Mary Isabelle, Joseph Martin, Samuel Elllmer and Emily Ellen Hamilton, all born at the same location.
Florence married Isaac S Herron on May 1st, 1884. Children Jennie and Arthur were born at Axtel, Clifford H., born at Selden, Sheridan Co., KS. and Walter Herron born at Ellis, Co. KS.
Florence was a skilled and proficient cook, and cooked for their resteraunt in Selden, KS., at her R.R. boarding house in Pawnee City, NE. Then later cooked for her 2nd husband, Steve Day's threshers on their farm at Yuma, Yuma Co. CO.
Her son Clifford H. recalled his mother's cornbread, she baked in a cast iron Johnny cake pan.
