Murder victim in a high-profile case. Savagely beaten to death in her home by her husband, Glen, who tried to blame the crime on an outside intruder. Police were suspicious, though, when they discovered many inconsistencies with the crime scene, such as that the ladder propped against the outside of the garage was facing backwards and that the garage roof, which gave access to the upstairs bedroom window where a screen was removed, was covered in dew, but no foot or handprints were found in it. When subsequent investigation turned up, not one, but two, mistresses in Glen's life, the police began to focus on him. He was eventually tried and convicted of third degree murder. A book, "Murder At 75 Birch", has been written about the case, and a TV-movie of the same name has been made, starring Melissa Gilbert. The case was also featured on the Court TV program "Forensic Files."
