A brick layer and quarry worker, John C. Albrecht was born in Prussia (Germany) in 1833. About 1860 he married Caroline Fidalus Albrecht, and they came to America. They had eight children: Ida M. Albrecht Stauber Haglage, John C. Albrecht, Jr., Anna Albrecht, Michael John Albrecht, Gus Albrecht, Theresa Albrecht, Theresa Albrecht, and Charles Albrecht. John C. Albrecht, Sr. died in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio in 1887 at age 54 and is probably buried in an unmarked grave near his daughter Ida M. Albrecht Stauber Haglage in Vine Street Hill Cemetery (formerly Carthage Road Cemetery started by the German Reform Church in Cincinnati). I hope one of his descendents will add his photo to this site.
