Joseph Zmeskal, 74, of 1126 N. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, June 30, at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay.
Masonic services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Past Worshipful Master Kenneth Hendricks will officiate with cremation to follow and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Zmeskal was born July 24, 1907, at Chicago, son of the late Joseph and Mary Kliment Zmeskal. He attended schools in Chicago and later moved to Manitowoc. He married Violet Ourada, Aug. 29, 1932. The couple resided at Manitowoc all their lives. Mr. Zmeskal was employed at Dick Brothers Bakery for 28 years, and then at Aluminum Specialty as an inspector for a number of years, retiring in 1966. He was a 50 year member of Manitowoc Masonic Lodge No. 65 F. and A.M. He was also a member of Manitowoc Chapter No. 16, Manitowoc Commandery No. 45, and Manitowoc-Two Rivers Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Violet; two sisters and brother-in-law, Helen and Woodrow Strewsky, and Betty Hansen of Manitowoc, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
