FRANK ZIMMER DEATH TODAY
Union Park Attendant Was Ill Since December
Frank Zimmer, 435 North Fifth street, for the past seven years park attendant
at Union Park, died early today after an illness dating back to last December.
He was 57 years of age.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the home and at 9:30 a.m.
from the Sacred Heart church with interment at Evergreen cemetery.
The deceased was born on a farm in the town of Manitowoc Rapids 57 years ago
and spent his entire life in the county. He was married at Whitelaw 29 years
ago to Miss Anna Koerner and they located on a farm near Four Corners. Here
they remained until seven years ago when they came to this city and Mr. Zimmer
entered the employ of the city in charge of the northside park. Failing health
forced him to give up this position at the holiday time.
Surviving him are his widow, three sons, Herbert, teaching at Louis Corners,
Erwin and Raymond, two daughters, Aurelia and Helen, a grandchild, Dolores Ann
Zimmer, and a brother George of Rapids. The deceased was a member of the Holy
Name society of the Sacred Heart church and also of the Knights of Columbus.
The remains were removed to the home on North Fifth street this afternoon from
the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and may be viewed there up to the
hour of the funeral Saturday morning.
