Dr. Ziglinski Dies At Home This Morning.
Mrs. Adolph Kadow, sister of Dr. Ziglinski’s Wife, Dies in Same Hour
The deaths of Dr. Norbert T. Ziglinski, 53, and Mrs. Adolph Kadow, 53,
related by marriage, occurred within an hour of each other this morning.
Mrs. Kadow, formerly Mathilda Rathsack, and Mrs. Ziglinski, formerly
Miss Ella Rathsack, were sisters.
Dr. Ziglinski, former president of the board of education and a
practicing dentist here for 25 years, died shortly before 9 o’clock
this morning at his home, 1122 South Eighth street. He suffered a
stroke last Wednesday and had been in ill health for a year although
he was able to visit his office regularly until a week ago. Pneumonia
hastened his death.
Mrs. Kadow’s death occurred at Holy Family Hospital where she had been
a patient for the last two weeks, at 7:45 a.m. today. She was a lifelong
resident of Milwaukee.
Born in Newton.
Dr. Ziglinski was born in 1879 in the town of Newton, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. August Ziglinski, now deceased. He was educated in the common
schools of Newton and later attended the southside high school in this
city from which he was graduated. Later he enrolled in the dental course
at Milwaukee Marquette university. He was graduated before he reached
the age of 21 years.
The deceased decided to locate in this city and opened dental offices
in the old Teitgen block, where he continued his practice for 25 years.
He was married in this city 23 years ago to Miss Ella Rathsack of
Manitowoc who survives him. A son and daughter were born to them, the
daughter dying in infancy. The son, Eugene, makes his home here. In
addition, there are two stepbrothers, John and Joseph Sturm, city, and
a step-sister, Mrs. George Leonhard, city.
9 Years On Board
Dr. Ziglinski’s service on the school board extended over a period of
nine years, he being chosen for three terms of three years each. In the
last three years of his service on the board, he was honored by being
chosen president.
Funeral services will be held from the St. Boniface church. The hour
and day will be given tomorrow.
