Corporal. Co C 62 PA Inf (Lyon Guards). Enlisted 4 Jul 1861. Enlisted 7/25/61 at Curllsville. Mustered in 7/25/61 as Corp. at Pittsburgh. Mustered out 7/13/64 (Bates). Discharged. Fair complexion, height 5' 10 1/2". Brown hair, gray eyes. Miner. Bronchial catarrh - loss of middle finger of left hand. Wounded at Malvern Hill. Discharged 13 Jul 1864.

Isaac Scott, son of Jacob C. and Barbara (Smith) Barnhart, was born in Monroe township, on his father's, now his own, farm, September 27, 1862. He was brought up on the homestead and received a public school education. He is a farmer, owning one hundred and fifty-two acres of land, well improved. He is a Republican, and has been school director of his township. His church is the Reformed.

He married, May 29, 1890, Nettie Roduska, daughter of William and Martha (Switzer) Wyman, born at Sligo, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, August 16, 1869. Her grandfather, George Wyman, born in Germany, died at Newcastle, Pennsylvania; his wife, Catharine Bigley, of Irish birth, died at Sligo, about 1875. They came to Huntingdon county, Pennsylvania and thence at an early date to Clarion county. Mrs. Barnhart's maternal grandfather, Samuel Switzer, also an early settler in Clarion county, died in 1888, at the age of eighty-one; his wife was Catharine Reece. William Wyman was born in Huntingdon county, in 1840, died February 22, 1896. He was a veteran of the civil war, having served three years; was a Republican, and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Martha (Switzer) Wyman was born in Licking township, Clarion county, in 1845, and is now living at Sligo. Children of Isaac Scott and Nettie Roduska (Wyman) Barnhart: Grace May, born May 21, 1891; Jacob Ross, born May 2, 1897.
