Miss Ann S Whitsel passed away yesterday morning at 6:30 o'clock at St Elisabeth hospital after a week's illness. Her death was caused by erysipelas. Miss Whitsel was born in Pickaway county, Ohio, on March 12, 1832, and had lived on the West Side and in West Lafayette since 1854. She leaves one sister, Mrs Mary Johnston, of marion, Ohio, and one brother, William, Whitsel, of West Lafayette. Her mother died when she was quite young and it devolved upon her to care for her brothers and sisters. She was true to her trust and there never was a more devoted sister or truer woman. She was a member of the Methodist church and her religon was sincere and fruitful. She was a noble woman, lived a useful life and died rich in the love and esteem of all who knew her. The remains were taken to Frank & Son's parlors and this afternoon, will be taken to the home of her brother, William Whitsel, 166 Thornell street, West Lafayette. The funerl will be held from there tomorrow morning at 10 O'clock. Dr T J Bassett will officiate and the interment will be made in the Hebron Cemetery. The serices will be public, but the burial will be private.
