Douglass - David T. Whitney, 74, lifelong resident of Douglass, died March 30, 1991, at his home.
Born June 4, 1916, east of Douglass, he was the son of William Amos and Lillian Ora (Graumlich) Whitney. He graduated from Douglass High School and married Medrith Edna Robinson on August 15, 1951 in Douglass.
Whitney was a farmer and carpenter and member of the Douglass United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughter, Beth Strothman of Wellington and Mary Klabzuba of Wichita; a sister, Flava Woods, of Mulvane; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Douglass United Methodist Church with interment in Douglass Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Douglass United Methodist Church and American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through Miles-Wheeler Memorial Chapel.
