Birth: Feb. 21, 1680
Norwalk
Fairfield County
Connecticut, USA
Death: Apr. 26, 1728
Ridgefield
Fairfield County
Connecticut, USA

The son of my ancestors, JOHN & ELIZABETH (SMITH) WHITNEY, " Henry Whitney took to wife Elizabeth Olmsted, ye daughter of ye late Lieut. John Olmstead, deceased, June 14, 1710." (Ancient History of Norwalk).

He sold his property in Norwalk to his borther John Whitney on July 8, 1712 and removed to Ridgefield where he was among the early settlers.

Henry Whitney was chosen townsman in Ridgefield in 1717, fence viewer in 1720, 1723, 1724, 1726.
The White Oak Tree near Henry Whitney's home was used as the "Sign Post" for the town.

Four days before his death, on April 22, 1728, he sold land to my ancestor, REV. THOMAS HAWLEY.
