Graveside services were held for Mrs. Etta Rawlins Whitney of Ocala, FL. who died March 27, 1993 at the Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, GA.

Born June 2, 1923 in Odum, Mrs. Whitney was the daughter of John Henry and Janie Newton Rawlins. A retired clerk with United Telephone of Florida, she had lived in Ocala since 1964, moving from Miami. She was a member of the Pioneers of United Telephone.

Survivors include her husband, Mac Whitney, Ocala, FL; two daughters: Francine Grimsley of Albany, and Jean Allen, Hawkinsville; her mother, Janie N. Rawlins, Ocilla; and a brother, Norman Rawlins of Ocilla; Five grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
