George Henry Whitney, 74, 2126 Hubbard Street, died Sunday afternoon. He came to Jacksonville five years ago from Detroit, Michigan. He was a member of Detroit Lodge, No 34, BPOE.
Surviving him are his wife, two daughters: Mrs HG Kennedy, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and Mrs Olive Malcolmson and a granddaughter, Miss Alice Malcolmson of Jacksonville.
The funeral will take place Tuesday morning (1 Jan) at 11:30, Rev. Newton Middleton, D.D. Rector of St. Johns Episcopal Church officiating. An Elks service at the cemetery was conducted by Jacksonville Lodge, No. 221.
