Mollie E (Harrison) White, was born in LaGrange, Ga, on March 10, 1954. Died at Center Point, Texas January 29, 1925, at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 19 days.
She was united in marriage to N.H. White, on March 15th, 1874, survives her and lives in Center Point. To this union were born eight children, five of whom are still living, as follows: Frank E, Kelly S and Hollie C White, all of Center Point; Mrs. Geo M Hill of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. J Rector Word of Clairmont, Texas.
Of the three dead children, one died at 9 months, a girl; a boy at 9 years of age, and a daughter who was 24 years of age when death came leaving a baby girl, who was raised by Mrs. White and is known in the family as "Our Baby Sister". She is Mrs. Geo Smith of Post, Texas.
All of Mrs. White's children were present at her funeral and all had been with her for some days, except Mrs. Hill who arrived Thursday night.
Mother united with the Christian Church in 1878 and had been a faithful member since that time.
A more devoted mother never lived. Mother was a true Christian and when the Grim Reaper would pluck from our home one of the brightest flowers, Mother would reconcile herself that "thy will be done" and would bestow more affection on those of us who were left with her. Her faith was well rounded, and when she knew that her hours were few on earth, her request to her off-springs was, "Not to worry, for I am happy and will be at rest with those called before".
Mother loved her church as only a true Christian could. Her membership was with the Christian Church at Crosbyton, Texas, and in her last days, she would often mention her church and that faithful membership she so often and persistently worshiped with.
Mother had suffered from asthma for nearly forty years. She had a number of ailments all the time but nothing on earth ever detracted from her hola on God, and in a not far distant day, we expect to meet her there, where there are no heartaches, no tears, but where the Grand Architect rules supreme in a home eternal not made by human hands - Center Point News.
