LEILA SCHAEFER WEYER

Leila Weyer, age 91, a resident of Clearview Long Term Rehabilitation, Juneau,
died on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Clearview.
She was born on June 11, 1916, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Helen
(Bauknecht) Schaefer. On Nov. 7, 1936, she married Harold H. Weyer in Manitowoc.
Leila and her husband, Harold, together operated Clover Dairy and then established
Weyer Refrigeration. In the 1940s, they built the Penquin Restaurant, which they
owned and operated for more than 40 years. Harold preceded her in death on Jan. 20,
2000. Leila was a long-time member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc.

She was preceded in death by a son: Jim Weyer; a sister: Esther; one brother:
Gerhard; and a sister-in-law: Esther Mahnke.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev.
David Rosenow, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at First German Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, until the time of
service at 11 a.m.
Memorials would be appreciated to First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family
with funeral arrangements.
