Anton Werner, 66, lifelong resident of Manitowoc, died yesterday afternoon at
the home, 1112 South 23rd street, following a few days illness.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Leschke funeral home,
with interment in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Werner was born in this city in 1875 and for many years was employed at the
Rahr Malting Company. He had been retired in recent years. He married Miss
Veronica Pospiezny. She died in 1937.
Survivors are four sons, Anthony of Milwaukee, Edward, Theodore and Benjamin of
this city; eight daughters, Mrs. Frank Kloiber, Mrs. Emil Duebner, Mrs. Everett
Behnke, Mrs. Daniel Becker, Jr., Mrs. Louis VanLannen, all of this city; Mrs.
Clara Althen of Green Bay, Mrs. Milton Wenzel of Milwaukee, Mrs. Gustave Carlson
of Waukegan; three brothers, Frank and John of this city, Louis, of Hayward, Wis.;
three sisters, Mrs. Frances Naidy and Martha, of this city, Mrs. Gustie Guberson,
of Highbridge, Wis.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
