OLD RESIDENT OF CITY DIES
Edward Wellner Passes Today After Short Illness
Edward Wellner, 50, life-long resident of this city, died at 10:30 this morning
after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home at 2202
Clark St., and at two o’clock from the Reformed church with the Rev. O. A. Menke
officiating. Interment in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Wellner was born in this city August 17, 1885. He married Effie Schliesloder
on March 3, 1908. He was employed as an electric welder at the Manitowoc Shipyards.
Survivors are the widow; his mother, Mrs. George Wellner; one daughter, Evelyn,
city; one son, Edward Jr.; four brothers, Emil, Walter, Harvey, George, of this
city, and one sister, Mabel Wellner, this city.
A brother, Arthur Wellner, died last week at St. Paul Minn.
He was a member of the Shipbuilders and Boilermakers’ union No. 443.
The body may be viewed from Sunday night at the home up to the time of the funeral.
