DEATH COMES AT HIS SON'S
Max Wellhoefer Sr., 71, Dies Friday, Rites Monday
Max Wellhoefer Sr., 71, died yesterday of complications at the home of
his son, Hugo, 1103 South 10th street. He was ill since last June and
was in bed for the past week.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Max Wellhoefer
home, So. 14th street. The Rev. Hubert Feldt of the Wesley M.E. church
will officiate. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery.
The deceased was born in Sheboygan on January 13, 1864 and came to
Manitowoc in 1904. He was employed at the Manitowoc Specialty company
for a number of years. He married Minnie Hansen in June, 1887. She and
one daughter, Hortense, preceded him in death.
Since his retirement, he made his home with his son Hugo on South 10th
street.
One daughter, Lucinda Wellhoefer, city, and three sons, Max Wellhoefer Jr.,
Hugo Wellhoefer, and Theodore Wellhoefer, city, survive. Four sisters,
Mrs. Alex Schnorr, city, Mrs. Emma Weber, Chicago, Mrs. William Lubenow,
Sheboygan, Mrs. August Stoffregen, Sheboygan, and six grandchildren also
survive.
While living in Sheboygan, the deceased was a member of National Guard.
The body was removed this afternoon from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei
funeral home to the home of Max Wellhoefer at 1232 South 14th street.

The following is the sister of Max Wellhoefer:
Mrs. Wellhoefer Gehr Is Buried At Kaukauna
Mrs. Minnie Wellhoefer Gehr, 78, who died at her home in Kaukauna
Friday of a heart attack, was buried this afternoon from her home
there.
A brother, Max Wellhoefer, and a sister, Mrs. Alex Schnorr of this
city are among the survivors.
Mrs. Gehr was born at Sheboygan and married Gottlieb Gehr, a railroad
employe. Later they moved to Kaukauna where Mr. Gehr died six years
ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Wellhoefer, Max Wellhoefer and Mrs. Alex Schnorr
attended the funeral.
