William M. Wellever, 79, of 913 Jackson St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at
Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
The Rev. David A. Passet will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Drews-Bleser Post
No. 88 of Manitowoc.
Mr. Wellever was born April 20, 1896, at Egg Harbor, son of the late Frank and
Sarah La Roy Wellever. He moved to Manitowoc as a young man and also resided at
Two Rivers. He was a veteran of World War I. He married Elsie Trierwelier June 26,
1923, at Marshfield. Prior to his retirement in 1963, he was employed 40 years
with the U.S. Post Office as a distribution clerk. He was a member of American
Legion Drews-Bleser post. Mrs. Wellever preceded him in death May 5, 1974. He
married Mrs. Beatrice Kampke July 30, 1975, at Wesley Methodist Church,
Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, two stepsons, Lester Kampke, of North Dakota and
Harold Kampke, of Manitowoc; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leo (Linda) Tanner, of Montello;
a sister, Miss Lillian Wellever, of Sturgeon Bay, six step-grandchildren and
nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 6 to 9 o'clock this Monday evening.
