Ervin G. Welk, 71, of 231 Western Ave., Manitowoc, died Monday morning at home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Armin Roekle officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Welk was born August 14, 1891 at Manitowoc, son of the late William and Emma Hacker Welk. He attended public schools at Manitowoc and married Meta Wiesman January 31, 1924 at Manitowoc.
He was an engineer at Mirro Aluminum Co., retiring four years ago; a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and 50 year member of Manitowoc Marine Band.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Eldon Riha and a son, Wallace of Two Rivers; a sister, Mrs. Fred Jacobsen of Manitowoc. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc until 10:30 a.m. Thursday where the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
