John Martin Webb was the son of Andrew & Prisilar (Mason) Webb. He served in Co. D, 16th Indiana Infantry, during the Civil War and was killed. His brother Samuel Polk Webb served in the same company and was also killed. Their mother, Prisilar, also died during the war. Their father Andrew married two more times and ended up in California, where he lived to the age of 82.
