At her home in Stockwell last Saturday evening at 5:30 o’clock occurred the death of Mrs Elisabeth Waters, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed women of that community. She was born in Ross county, Ohio, 89, years ago and came to this county in 1828, where she resided up until the time of her death. Her death was due to the infirmities of age. The children surviving are a s follows: Mrs Mary Shoemaker of Romney; Howard Waters of Stockwell and John Waters of Shadeland. The deceased was one of the pioneers of this county and was a woman of the most noble and generous character. The funeral cortege left the family residence in Stockwell this afternoon
at 10 o’clock and services were held at the Wild Cat church, conducted by Rev j franklin Mikels. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church. ( The Call Newspaper, Lafayette, Monday, April 11, 1904)
