Obadiah was born in England in 1632 to William Ward and his first wife who is unknown, in England. Obadiah was the third child for William and his wife. Just like his father, Obadiah's origins before 1638 are unknown. Obadiah came to the colonies with his father and step-mother Elizabeth, along with his other siblings, John, Joanna, Richard, and Deborah in the spring of 1638. Immigration recorded their birth years when they entered the country but that was it and then recorded the fact afterwards. William Ward was part of the original land deal in Sudbury and by the fall of 1638 they were in Sudbury. He married Mary, who's last name is unknown, on 28 Nov 1667 in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Obadiah had land assigned to him in Sudbury, on his coming of age in 1653. He was one of three contractors for the erection in 1661 of the frame of the ministers house. He was a representative at the General Court, 1690-1691. Obadiah died January 5, 1718.
