Services for Rosa Lee Hart Wallace of Brookhaven, formerly of Bogue Chitto, were 11 a.m., Monday, May 24, at Bethel Baptist Church of Bogue Chitto with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wallace, 89, died May 21, 2004, at Silver Cross Nursing Home. She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 26, 1914, to Harrison Hart and Clara Wallace Hart.

She was retired from Stahl Urban Manufacturing Company. She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church of Bogue Chitto, where she served in various capacities of the church including song leader for many years. In years past, she was instrumental in organizing the annual Wallace Family Reunion honoring her grandparents, the late Elisha and Malissia Wallace. She was the first of their 101 grandchildren. She was a 1933 graduate of Bogue Chitto High School.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William Ernest Wallace; a sister, Elsie Nettles; and her brothers, Harley Hart, Hoyte Hart, Herman Hart, Wallace Hart and Hugh Hart.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Ronald Durr of Brookhaven; her son and daughter-in-law, Milton and Patsy Wallace of Brookhaven; her sisters, Lottie B. Smith of Bogue Chitto, Jenny Ford of McComb, and Peggy Gardner of Oklahoma City, Okla.; her granddaughters, Nannette W. Clark of Brookhaven, Renee W. Bilbo of Columbia, and Rhonda D. Johnson of Bogue Chitto; her great-grandchildren, Nathan Wallace Bilbo, Lydia Kate Bilbo, Olivia Claire Clark and Anna Brooke Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
