MANITOWOC MAN STRICKEN HERE

Allen Walker Dies of Heart Attack Tuesday While Enroute Home

Stricken with a heart attack while passing through this city Tuesday evening enroute home from a fishing trip at Sturgeon Bay, Allen Walker, 53, lieutenant in the Manitowoc fire department, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Webb, Milwaukee street, where he had been removed from a car.

When it was seen that he was in distress, his companions, Edward Plautz, and Ed. Fricke, carried him into the Webb home and Dr. W. M. Wochos was summoned. Death occurred shortly afterwards. The Shimek ambulance of Manitowoc called here for the body.

He died at about 5:15 o'clock. The three men had been ice-fishing at Sturgeon Bay, in Plautz's car. Walker was apparently in good health, and the three were joking at the time.

Deceased was born in Door county, and was married at Sevastopol to Miss Ida Plumb. (sic-Klumb) Later he joined the coast guard at Sheboygan, was an alderman, and was in
business there for a few years. At Manitowoc he was prominent in fraternal circles. Just before his death he was chosen head of the Firemen Union of Manitowoc.

He leaves a widow, a daughter, four sons, a sister and three brothers. Funeral services were planned for this morning.
