Arthur J. Vreeke, age 81, a resident of 1657 Atlanta Circle, Manitowoc, went
home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Bellin Hospital in
Green Bay.
Art was born on Oct. 1, 1926, in Manitowoc to the late William and Sadie
(Horstmann) Vreeke. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the
class of 1944. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served overseas during
World War II. Upon returning to Manitowoc, he was employed with the Foley
Company for 26 years until his retirement in 1987 as Manager of Safety Services.
On Sept. 9, 1959, Art married Arlene Vaclavik in Dubuque, Iowa. She preceded him
in death on Aug. 10, 1992. Art enjoyed spending his time golfing, bowling and
reading. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, where he
served on the church council, as an elder of the church, usher and on other
various committees.

Art was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Arlene; one brother: Robert;
and one niece: Cheryl.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc,
on Friday, April 11, 2008, from 10 a.m. until the beginning of the funeral service
at 11 a.m. The Rev. Richard Miller will officiate, with burial to follow at
Evergreen Cemetery.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets,
Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
