Jule Hallie-Jessie vom Orde, 83, of Reno, unexpectedly passed away August 11, 2008. She was born December 1, 1924 in Fort Benning, GA to Alan Walter and Alys Pickering Jones. Hallie was a member of the Audubon Society and a board member of the Washington National Cathedral School. She was a graduate of Middlebury College. Hallie was a life long learner and traveler. As such she was able to give back to the community as a school volunteer. Throughout her life Hallie enjoyed, golfing, reading, traveling, camping, bird watching, fishing and the company of her good friends. She also enjoyed attending the vom Orde/Jones family reunions throughout the United States.
Hallie is survived by her husband, Ret. Col E.A. vom Orde Jr., U.S. Marine Corps; son, Kurt vom Orde (partner, Billie Mann); daughters, Alice vom Orde and Lisa Woodard (her favorite son-in-law, Mark Woodard); five grandchildren, Jesse Woodard, Lorraine Woodard, Aaron Woodard, Rachel vom Orde and Carson vom Orde; brother, Ret. Col. Alan W. Jones; nieces and nephews, Alan W. Jones III (wife, Kate Watts), Steve Jones (partner, Kay Hayford) and Nan Jones, great nephew, Alan Clifton (wife, Wendy Jones); great niece, Firelin Jones and her beloved cat, Lola. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Lynn M. Jones. Hallie will be buried at the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
