Mrs. Ida Voigt, 89, of Collins, died early Thursday morning at Holy Family
Hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient the past year. Funeral
services will be at Faith Lutheran Church at Valders. The Rev. Robert Onkka
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. She was
born Nov. 23, 1872, in the town of Schleswig, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Rudolph Zorn. She was married to Louis T. Voigt of Collins Nov. 24, 1895. Her
husband was a cheesemaker and later operated a lumber yard and furniture store
at Collins. He died Dec. 14, 1940. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society
of the church.
Surviving are two sons, Elmer of Rt. 2, Reedsville, and Harvey of Manitowoc;
two daughters, Mrs. Viola Mahloch of Manitowoc and Mrs. Elsie Pankratz of St.
Nazianz, brother, John Zorn of Elkhart lake; sister, Mrs. Anna Ruppenthal of
Hilbert; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother
preceded her in death.
