ERNEST J. VOGT

Ernest J. Vogt, 82, of 941 N. 23rd Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday morning,
February 12, 1987 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be
2 pm Saturday at First Reformed United Church of Christ. Rev. Arthur H. Wille
will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Vogt was born March 31, 1904 in the Town ship of Newton, Manitowoc County,
son of the late Carl and Caroline Schmidt Vogt. He grew up in the Township of
Newton and attended area schools. He moved to Manitowoc in 1927. Mr. Vogt
worked for Manitowoc County Highway Department starting in 1923 for 45 years,
retiring in 1968. He married the former Adeline I. Winter on October 11, 1928
at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death July 17, 1973. Mr. Vogt was a member
of First Reformed United Church of Christ and a member of the Manitowoc Senior
Citizens.
Survivors include a son, Richard Vogt of Manitowoc; two grandsons, Joseph Vogt
of Tampa, Florida and Andrew Vogt of Madison, Wisconsin and two nephews, Edward
Schnell of Manitowoc and LeRoy Schnell rural Manitowoc. He was preceded in death
by a sister, Emma Schnell.
Friends may call at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc, from 1 pm
Saturday until the hour of service. Memorials would be appreciated to First
Reformed United Church of Christ. Reinbold and Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
assisted the family with arrangements.
