Mrs. Margaret A. (Peggy) Vogelsang, 73, of 510 E. Reed Ave., Manitowoc, died
Friday morning at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Private funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Jens Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Dale Tutje will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. Vogelsang, nee Margaret Mitchell, was born Oct. 16, 1902, in Scotland,
daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Drysdale Mitchell. She came to the
United States as a young girl and was married to Arnold Vogelsang Oct. 22, 1924,
at Manitowoc, residing here since.
She was a saleswoman for Connecticut General Insurance Co., retiring in 1968.
She and her husband were instrumental in the beginning of Alcoholics Anonymous
Alanon at Manitowoc. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Ruth
Circle of the church and a member of a prayer group for 24 years. She also was
a member of Junior Service League, Bundles for Britain, Republican Women, Order
of Eastern Star No. 196 and Shrine Auxiliary. Mr. Vogelsang preceded her in
death in 1966.
Survivors include a son, (private); a daughter, (private); three granddaughters,
(private) and a grandson, (private). A sister preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation. The casket will remain closed. Memorials may be
made to First Presbyterian Church.
