Benjamin Vincent and his wife, Samantha, had five children; Hannah, George, Benjamin, Phillip, and Mabel. After Samantha died, Benjamin married Mrs. Laura Hood.

Benjamin was engaged in the shoe business and started the first shoe factory in Olympia. The factory was located over the brick jail on the tide flats.
