SOPHIE VETTING
Mrs. Herman Vetting, 89, of 1412 Madison St., Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon
at Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient the past six weeks.
Funeral services will be held at the First German Evangelical Lutheran Church
at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Sophia Hoeffner on Jan. 4, 1865, in the Town of Newton and on
Dec. 5, 1884, was married to Herman Vetting. The couple settled on a farm in
Newton and in 1928 they retired and came to Manitowoc.
She was preceded in death by her husband and survivors include a daughter, Mrs.
Fred Wernecke of Rt. 3, Manitowoc; two sons, Louis and Arthur of Manitowoc; and
a brother, Ernest of Manitowoc; in addition to eight grandchildren and six great
grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 2 p.m.
Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday when the casket will be moved to the church.
