Mr. Vetting was born May 5, 1888, in the Town of Newton, Manitowoc County, son of the late Herman and Sophie Hoefner Vetting. He married Frieda Kieselhorst Dec. 5, 1914, and farmed in the Town of Newton until retirement in 1956. The couple celebrated its 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 5, 1964. Mr. Vetting had also been employed at Manitowoc Seed Co.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Edward, of Charlevoix, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Roland Bierman of Manitowoc and Mrs. Gordon Kohlbeck of Cato; a brother, Louis of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Ida Wernecke of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, this Monday evening and until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until the time of services.
