LOUIS H. VETTING (d. 1970)
Louis H. Vetting, 85, of 824 N. 13th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning at
home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Phipps Memorial Chapel
of the First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Vetting was born Sept. 30, 1885, in the Town of Newton, Manitowoc County,
son of the late Herman and Sophie Hoefner Vetting. He attended schools in
Manitowoc County and was graduated from Manitowoc County and was graduated
from Manitowoc Business College. He married Lydia Levenhagen June 19, 1910,
at Manitowoc. His wife preceded him in death in 1967. Mr. Vetting served as
president of the American Exchange Bank from 1924 to 1932, and director of
the First National Bank, Manitowoc. He also served as secretary-treasurer
of the Manitowoc Seed Co. until his retirement in 1960. He was a member of
the Manitowoc Elks Club No. 687, the Rotary Club, the Garden Club, and also
a 50-year member of the Travelers Protective Assn.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Lucille) Shobelt of Sault St.
Marie, Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. Fred (Winifred) Tendick of Milwaukee.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 7
to 9 p.m. Wednesday, until noon Thursday and at the chapel until the time
of services.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Memorial Hospital,
Manitowoc.
