Funeral services for Miss LaVerne Vetting, 41, of 4970 Marine Dr., Chicago,
Ill., formerly of 1016 N. 13th St., Manitowoc, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday
at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Vernon Anderson will officiate
and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She died Friday from injuries received when struck by a hit and run driver
as she stepped off a bus at Chicago.
Miss Vetting was born Oct. 26, 1926, at Manitowoc, daughter of George and
Agnes Madsen Vetting. She attended local schools and is a Lincoln High School,
Manitowoc, Class of 1945, graduate. She was a graduate of Gradwahl School of
Medical Technology, St. Louis, Mo. Miss Vetting had been employed in the
research department of the University of Illinois for 12 years and was a
laboratory technician in the Northwestern Medical Center, Chicago.
Survivors include her parents and two sisters, Mrs. LeRoy Wallace and Mrs.
Martin Schrank, of Manitowoc.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 6 p.m.
Monday until 11 a.m. Tuesday and then at the church. Memorials may be made
to First Lutheran church.
