WILLIAM A. VERGIELS

William A. Vergiels, 59, of 1324 South 14th street, died Sunday night at his
home, following a lingering illness.
He was born in Kewaunee in 1886 and in 1916 married Miss Amanda Winter at Antigo.
They located at Wayside, and 27 years ago moved to this city, where Mr. Vergiels
was employed at the Aluminum Goods company until two years ago.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Wacker, Dorothy and Marilyn,
all of this city; two brothers, Martin of Green Bay, Erwin of Rhinelander; sister,
Mrs. William Fick of Mishicot; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First German Evangelical
church, the Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
The body may be viewed at the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home after 7
p.m. Tuesday and will be moved to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.

William Anton Herman Vergiels was born 1 Apr 1886 to William and Emilie (Hoffman) Vergiels at Rio Creek, Kewaunee, WI. He was baptized 9 May 1886 at St. John's Lutheran, Rankin, WI. In 1889 the family moved to Wayside, Brown, WI.

William married Amanda Winter on 21 Nov 1916 at Antigo, Langlade, WI. In 1920 William was a salesman at a store in Manitowoc and by 1930 he worked at the aluminum factory.

William and Amanda had two daughters, Gertrude, born about 1920 and Dorothy, born about 1929.
