J. Verdahl, Old Resident, Passes Away
John Verdahl died at the Holy Family hospital Sunday evening, the demise being
due to complications incident to old age. The funeral will be held from the home
at 420 North Tenth street, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. O. K.
Espeseth officiating at the services. Burial will be at Evergreen.
Born in Norway January 27, 1848(sic) Mr. Verdahl was past seventy-seven years
of age. He came to this country at the age of twenty-one and settled in Minnesota
but later moved to Chicago where he was married to Miss Amelia Hanson of this city.
Ten years ago the family came here and for a number of years Mr. Verdahl was
employed at the shipyards. He is survived by his widow and several sisters who
reside in Norway.
